How do I enforce child support or alimony?

Family Law

Child support and alimony are enforceable by the Contempt powers of the Court. If a party has not paid child support or alimony, the Court may order that party held in jail until payment is made. The Court also will determine the amount that is owed, and set up a mandatory payment to repay the unpaid child support or alimony. In many cases, if you win a Motion for Contempt, the Court may order the other party to reimburse you for your attorney’s fees and costs.
