How do I prove paternity?
Family Law
The father may have signed the birth certificate or an Affidavit of Paternity. If so, paternity may be established at that point. In a paternity case, if paternity has not been established, either party may request a paternity test. The paternity test uses DNA information. The test results are usually overwhelming conclusive of paternity or not paternity. If the paternity test is positive, the Court will enter an Oder determining paternity.
