What is a Domestic Violence Injunction?
Family Law
This is a court order to protect a person against violence or the threat of violence. An injunction may be obtained against a spouse, a family member, a person in a dating relationship or any other person who has been violent or threatened to be violent. The Order will require the person to stay away from you, and not have any contact with you. In some circumstances, the Court may give you temporary custody of children and temporary exclusive use of your residence.
