What is the Uniform Code of Military Justice?

The Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ) is the criminal code of conduct, enforced by all branches of the military. The UCMJ sets for both conduct and crimes that will be punished by military courts. The penalties may include lose of rank, imprisonment and discharge from military service under less than honorable conditions.
