Will the Florida Court divide my military pension?
Military Law
Florida courts may divide a military pension if Florida is the home or record of the serviceperson, if the service person is domiciled in Florida or if the serviceperson agrees that Florida may divide the pension. The “home of record” is the permanent residence listed by the serviceperson in his or her military documents. “Domiciled” means that Florida is the primary and permanent home of the serviceperson. Florida may not be able to divide the pension simply because the serviceperson is stationed in Florida for military duty or because the spouse is in Florida.
